2002 Makualla Ski-in
Crescent Lake

Another one of our traditions, every February Troop 21 teams up with one or more troops to cross country ski in around Crescent Lake to the Camp Makualla BSA property.  Despite the snow, there is a year-round caretaker, and the troops get to bivuac in the dining hall, where there is a nice wood stove.  This is our traditional opportunity for Scouts to earn the Snow Sports merit badge.

ASMs Jerry, Doug, and Jerry (yes, there's two) skiing along the road towards Simax Beach.
Now that's Rood. No, really, that's ASM Jerry Rood on the shore at Simax Beach.
The group takes a lunch break at Simax Beach, about halfway around towards Camp Makualla. That's Crescent Peak in the background.
There's enough snow. So why not go tubing off the Dining Hall roof?
The whole crew at the Assembly Area by the flagpoles at Camp Makualla.
