Home sweet home for the weekend.
Three adults can easily fit inside this igloo with all their gear. |
 |
The guys start lashing poles to make the
framework for the Troop banner. |
 |
Scoutmaster Ray has to try out the Polar
Putting Green. |
 |
ASM Josh lines up that putt. Man, this
green has some wicked break to it. |
 |
Eat your heart out, Better Homes and
Gardens. It snowed during the week, putting another two feet of insulation
on the igloo, and adding to the heat trap in the sunken entry way.
Had to take out a second to buy the tiki torches. |
 |
Kyle Rood, our perpetual designated
'sitter' in the Snow Chair competition. Five minutes for the group to
build the largest snow pile they can and get someone atop it. |
 |
And here come the judges.
Sstrreettttcchhhh, Kyle....... |
 |
Some visiting Webelos try their hand at
the putting green. |
 |
Ben, Kevin, Joe, Brandon, and Mitch get
ready to enjoy a deep fried chicken for dinner. |
 |
Scouts struggle through the deep snow in
the Snowshoe Knot Relay. |
 |
Scouts have to show accuracy in throwing
a rescue line, and then answer winter first aid and survival questions in
the Ice Rescue. |
 |
In the sled race, it's just brute force
energy to drag a teammate around an obstacle course in the snow. |
 |
Meanwhile, the adult leaders are hard at
work 'planning' troop events for the evening and the next day. All that
planning takes energy, you know. It's a well-known fact that no
Scout or adult has ever starved to death on a Troop 21 outing. |
